I’m Jessica Pantermuehl, founder of the Holistic Entrepreneur Association, lead instructor for the Nutritional Therapy Association’s Career Development Course, marketing and leadership instructor at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, brand strategist, and business and marketing educator for holistic health professionals.
Having spent six years in practice as a nutritional therapy practitioner and holistic health coach myself, both in private practice and as head of nutrition counseling for an integrative medical center, I’ve helped hundreds of clients find relief from chronic pain through one-on-one nutrition counseling, online programs, and group classes. After being asked by my colleagues about how I was doing it, and because I knew from my own experience that there was a frustrating lack of resources for new practitioners, I created the Holistic Entrepreneur Association.
At this point, I’ve helped hundreds of health professionals create successful, sustainable businesses through an authentic, compassionate, and modern approach to marketing and running a business.

But when I first started out as a practitioner myself, I had the same struggles you’re facing. I felt confused, completely overwhelmed, and unsure if what I was doing was going to work. The technology aspect used to really intimidate me. There was a lot of trial and error, more than a few times I thought maybe I was crazy for trying to run a business, and many (many) hard-won lessons in entrepreneurship.

As it turns out, building a business isn’t actually rocket science. It simply takes learning the strategies that work and implementing them consistently.

How Is the HEA Professional Membership Different from the NTA’s Career Development Course?

The Career Development Course is an eight-week, instructor-led, guided program that I teach alongside Miriam Zacharias, author of The Peace Process. If you haven’t seen that course, I’d highly recommend checking it out here. One of the great things about the Career Development Course is that you have access to lead instructors and course mentors every step of the way, who help guide you through every module and give you feedback on each of your assignments. The course culminates in the creation of your very own, personalized Career Compass – essentially, a completely customized business and marketing plan for your success.

The HEA Professional Membership is not a guided, instructor-led course, but instead is a membership platform that provides a wealth of done-for-you marketing materials, ongoing training, a community of fellow practitioners, and video lessons on the nitty-gritty technical aspects of running your business.

You’re not required to take the Career Development Course in order to take advantage of your free year of the HEA Professional Membership, but I would recommend it!

FAQs

What happens when my complimentary year expires?
You are welcome to renew your membership at that time but you’re under no obligation to do so. Professional Membership is currently $25 per month.
How do I access the Professional Membership?
After requesting your complimentary membership (which you can do here if you haven’t already), we’ll need a few days for processing and verification and to set up your account. We ask that you allow two weeks for this process, though usually it is completed well before this time frame. Once your account is set up, you’ll receive a confirmation email with all the instructions for accessing the membership.
I'm not sure that I'm quite ready to open my business. Can I defer my year of access?
While aren’t able to defer your year of complimentary access, even if you’re not yet seeing clients, the tools available to you in the Professional Membership will help you start creating a presence for yourself as a practitioner, which will be beneficial when you’re ready to work with clients.
Where does the membership take place?
You’ll have access to the membership, the materials, and the community forum in an online platform. Once you sign up for your membership, you can log in to the platform at any time from anywhere in the world. The membership platform works beautifully on mobile, tablet, and on your computer.
